The Orbera Weight Loss Program
Orbera* is a unique non-surgical weight loss option that is designed to aid in controlling the appetite of those who are eligible for the program. While Orbera isn’t for everyone, certain candidates may be able to lose weight throughout the 12-month program. Alongside this weight loss option, we provide patients with nutritional guidance, portion control advice, and exercise recommendations — all of which are intended to improve your chances of obtaining a healthy weight and a balanced lifestyle.
What is Orbera?
Orbera is designed to curb the appetite of an individual. This unique device is considered an Intragastric Balloon System, which, when placed in the stomach, may suppress an individual’s appetite by off-setting some of the space in the stomach. For eligible patients, the device is placed in the stomach in a quick, simple procedure. The balloon system may remain in the stomach for 12 months during a successful treatment program.
How does Orbera work?
Orbera takes up space in the stomach, which may slow digestion while promoting proper portion control. For certain individuals, this may lead to healthy weight loss. Over the year-long treatment program, you may lose weight and you may form healthy eating and lifestyle habits which can aid you in maintaining a healthy weight.

The Orbera program may be the right program to help you curb your appetite in order to lose weight. If you’re curious about the Orbera program, the Intragastric Balloon System itself, or whether or not you may be eligible for the procedure, don’t hesitate to reach out to us — you can ask us any questions you may have & you may schedule an appointment with a gastroenterologist for a consultation, intake, & any necessary examinations.
*Orbera isn’t suitable for everyone. Those who are pregnant, breast-feeding, or planning to become pregnant in the coming six months may not use Orbera. In addition, if you are prone to having ulcers or other stomach complications, you may not be eligible to try Orbera. Your physician will assess your medical history and your current physical condition to determine if Orbera is a viable option.
The AspireAssist Weight Loss Program
AspireAssist* is a quick, non-surgical weight loss procedure designed to help those who are obese in losing weight. If you struggle to reduce weight or maintain a healthy weight with other weight loss programs, then AspireAssist may be right for you.
What is AspireAssist?
The AspireAssist device is essentially a small tube that is inserted into the stomach from the exterior of the abdomen. After the procedure is complete, the individual will be able to control the amount of calories that their body processes by using the device to discreetly empty approximately 30% of the calories consumed during a meal into the toilet. Those who use AspireAssist must chew their food thoroughly, which may help to improve the health of an individual while increasing their feeling of fullness after a meal. This habit may even prove beneficial to those who have the procedure reversed.
The AspireAssist procedure can be performed in a matter of 15 minutes, and patients may be able to return to their homes after about two hours. We provide our patients with guidelines on how to use the device safely, in order to strive to obtain healthy weight loss.
How does AspireAssist work?
AspireAssist works by reducing the amount of calories that pass from the stomach to the intestines where they may otherwise be absorbed by the body. In this way, an individual may be able to lose weight over time, by reducing their overall daily calorie ingestion. Since AspireAssist shouldn’t affect the gastrointestinal anatomy of an individual, you may not need to change your diet. However, you can work with your gastroenterologist for nutritional counseling that may further improve your weight loss results while supporting your overall health. Those who undergo the AspireAssist procedure may still be able to enjoy most activities, and may actually be more active after losing weight.
Find Out If AspireAssist Is Right for You
If you think that AspireAssist may help you to reach a healthy weight, we’d be happy to schedule a consultation to see if you are eligible for this procedure. AspireAssist is designed to be a long-term solution, which may help certain individuals to obtain and maintain a healthy weight for an extended period of time. Plus, AspireAssist is reversible, which can provide peace of mind for those who opt to try the program. If you’re curious whether or not you’re eligible for AspireAssist, don’t hesitate to reach out to us to schedule an initial consultation. You’ll meet with our gastroenterologist to discuss your current health and the viability of this non-surgical weight loss program.
*AspireAssist isn’t for everyone. AspireAssist is designed to help thos who are obese and those who are over the age of 22. AspireAssist is a long-term program which requires continuous monitoring from a physician. AspireAssist is not for patients who struggle with swallowing, those who struggle to properly digest food, those with stomach ulcers, high blood pressure, bulimia, blood clotting disorders, binge eating disorders, night-eating syndrome, lung diseases, cardiovascular diseases, anemia, or abdominal pain. Patients who have had previous surgery in the abdomen may not be eligible. Those with mental or physical disabilities and those with psychological illnesses may not be eligible. Those who are pregnant, breast-feeding, or planning to become pregnant may not be eligible for the AspireAssist program. Speak with a licensed physician to learn if AspireAssist may be right for you.
