Orbera® Non-Surgical Weight Loss Program

Designed for Safe, Healthy Weight Loss Experience Our Innovative Weight Control Plan

If you hope to lose weight and control your appetite, Orbera may be the solution for you. Orbera is a simple system, called an Intragastric Balloon System, which is designed to help individuals to lose weight and to maintain a healthy weight. Here at AGH, we’re ecstatic to offer this promising weight loss option for patients who are eligible. If you’re interested in Orbera and what it may do for you, feel free to reach out to us — we have offices in both Washington D.C. and Vienna, Virginia. You can also learn more about Orbera, how it works, who may be eligible for treatment, and what you can expect as a patient — all of which is listed below.

What Is Orbera and How Does It Work?

Orbera is a system designed to suppress an overactive appetite, which may aid in weight loss when paired with a healthy diet and exercise plan. This Intragastric Balloon System is just that — a small, soft balloon which is placed in the stomach, where it may effectively curb hunger throughout the day. Over a six-month period, Orbera can help to guide an individual to reduce their caloric intake and the amount and size of portions that they consume. After the initial period, the Orbera Intragastric Balloon System is removed, and individuals on the Orbera plan will be continually coached to help maintain a good habit of healthy dieting, portioning, and exercise. In this way, Orbera can help to provide long-lasting results, including weight loss and better overall health.

Who Is Eligible to Use Orbera?

Orbera isn’t suitable for everyone. Those who are pregnant, breast-feeding, or planning to become pregnant in the coming six months may not use Orbera. In addition, if you are prone to having ulcers or other stomach complications, you may not be eligible to try Orbera. Your physician will assess your medical history and your current physical condition to determine if Orbera is a viable option.

We’re In It Together

Orbera is a 12-month journey, and our team strives to improve your health through this weight loss strategy. We’ll work with you to encourage healthy habits, including portion control, diet, and exercise recommendations. We’ll track your progress throughout the Orbera treatment, and we’ll continue to work with you after the Orbera system has been removed. It’s our goal to improve your health while helping you to try to obtain a healthy weight. If Orbera is right for you, our group will work to help you use it, so that you can change your eating behaviors and try to sustain that progress long after the balloon is removed.
